Hi All,
I have white adjoining on my walls and am replacing my floor registers which were super former. I like white but I also like kind of a metallic silver. I take to pigment these so tin can paint them either color. They're currently just apparently aluminum not black every bit pictured. What would you choose for your floor? Floor is like a blonde wood.
If you tin can practise something like an antiqued contumely color, that would blend with the wood. I have natural oak floors. The silverish/nickel really clashed. (I accept those in the carpeted and tiled rooms and they are fine, simply the woods floor doesn't like the silvery.) Currently the one-time registers are dark dark-brown, non horrible. I am putting matching forest registers in side by side. And so when I have the floors stained darker and refinished, I desire to become flush wood registers which will be expensive.
Your registers are not-standard size? That's tough.
White will get dingy. I would effort to get a color that blends in with the floor.

Yous bring upwards some very good points. I have silverish decor (in lamps) etc which is why I was thinking silvery. I agree on the white getting filthy. I volition take to bring them upwardly in that location and meet what they look like.

If they are in an area where they'll go walked on, pigment with habiliment off or flake. Notice a improve quality paint if you can and properly prepare the surface (make clean well, sand, scuff, etc.), so make sure the pigment has fourth dimension to dry out and cure well. You might fifty-fifty want to apply a clear overcoat spray.
Something to consider might exist brass plating. Check your local phone book for shops that do chrome plating. Some volition too do brass. I accept no idea what the cost might exist, just information technology will be a lot more durable than pigment.

My neighbor had brazilian cherry wood floors put in on her first floor and replaced her flooring registers with wooden ones that match the color of her woods floors perfect. I think the wait is stunning considering it blends with the flooring and you lot don't see the floor registers sticking out. I believe she bought hers at home depot or lowels domicile comeback shop. I have also seen them online.
I need to replace mine and have off white rug in three rooms, have no idea of what to get all the same.

Restoration Hardware has nice metal registers for a adept cost in standard sizes and finishes. (More heavy duty than Home Depot.) I have off white carpet too and I got slatted brushed nickel floor registers for the carpeted and tiled areas. They friction match my door hardware.
My problem is the big 6x30" (?) return in the woods floor. I will probably take to have that custom fabricated.
